Stage 1: How to enter
- Send a 250 word essay to essay@yoga-recess.org explaining how you see yourself integrating yoga into the classroom. Please include a proposed budget outlining how the grant money would be utilized.
- We will also need the following information:
- Name
- School name and address
- Grade or subject you teach
- Phone number
- Email address
- Number of students you wish to reach
- Do you currently teach or practice yoga? Tell us about your yoga background, if any in 100 words or less. (This will not affect your chances of being selected.)
- Principal or administrator’s name, phone number and email address
- All submissions must be emailed to us by December 4th, 2011 midnight.
- We will only review submissions that include all the above information.
Stage 2: Announcement
- On December 19th, 2011 we will announce the candidates that will be moving onto the second stage. At this point we ask for a video submission explaining your project (by January 16th midnight). The winner will be the one that gets the most likes on Facebook. Please send in your video submissions to video@yoga-recess.org.
- All video submissions must be emailed to us by January 16th, 2012 midnight. Voting will take place on Facebook from January 22 - 31. We will announce the winner on February 2nd at 2pm est.
Please note all candidates must be a teacher employed in a school. Grants cannot be used to fund operating budgets or staff salaries. The winner will have one year to use the grant for his or her project. A mid-year and end of year review will be shared with Yoga Recess. |
